Hannes Chopra was born in Bonn, Germany.
In 1987 he graduated as a master of marketing and export (Aussenhandelskaufmann).
In 1994 he graduated from the Freiburg Albert Ludwig University with a degree of Master of Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt).
Mr. Chopra had been working in Allianz AG since January 1996. He worked in the Central and Eastern Europe, supervised Africa, Middle East and Southern Asia. Currently he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Allianz Russia, Allianz ROSNO Life, Allianz ROSNO Asset Management and a Member of the Board of Directors of the ROSNO Group, Allianz Insurance Ltd (Southern Africa) and Allianz Tiriac (Romania).
Since February 2002 Mr. Chopra has been closely working with Russia. Since July 2004 he has been a Member of the Board and a Member of the Board of Directors of OJSC ROSNO. He actively participated in Allianz AG joining the shareholding structure of OJSC ROSNO.
Hannes Chopra has been holding the position as OJSC ROSNO CEO since May 1, 2007.
He is fluent in German, English, Spanish, Punjabi, and Hindi, speaks French and understands Russian. Loves literature, drama, modern European and classical Indian music, goes in for sports.
